It appears that there are TWO key ways to make money on the internet, and anything else is just seems to be a combination or variant on these themes.

• Sell Something - Whether this is on Amazon, Ebay or via your own e-commerce website the principle is the same as it is in the real world.  Buy low, sell high. While the product for sale varies greatly the premise is the same. This looks to be rather involved and time consuming, finding suppliers and shipping out packages seems a bit too time consuming for what i’m looking for.
• Advertise Something – Adsense, bidvertiser etc etc etc etc…… There is a long list of companies who will pay you to advertise their product or service. This mainly requires you to have your own  website, blog or other medium through which you can promote their product.  The much frowned upon Adsense arbitrage model is an interesting variant on this theme. It uses Adsense to effectively advertise Adsense ads! The idea being that you get paid more for the Ad’s clicked on your site than you pay for the ads advertising your site.Advertising is a simple way to monetize a blog or website, and the code provided by the advertiser is usually easy to insert into your pages.

I have decided this is the best way to start my project as I already have a classic car website which I can monetize. Its just a simple matter of inserting some code and waiting to see the results.  I’ve opted to use Google Adsense and the Ebay Partner Network as the targeting of adverts/auctions is simple and effective.

is it possible to make money online - the online income project finds out!

Anyway after a discussion with some friends about making money on the internet I have decided to see if it is indeed possible to make a realistic income from the internet. I’m not looking to make millions to buy a mansion, just the UK minimum wage. As it stands the UK minimum wage is £5.73 an hour, and the average working week is 48 hours. Thats a total of  £275.04 a week or around £1100 a month (before Tax). Is it really possible to make that much from the web? Is the web the gateway to  low effort riches? I highly doubt it, but im going to give it a shot.  I’ll detail my efforts here for all to see.
